Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the topsoil stripping prior to sand and gravel extraction and was a third phase of a programme of archaeological works. The only archaeological feature observed were two 4m lengths of an undated shallow ditch which was almost certainly associated with the narrow stand of woodland that had formerly bounded the eastern part of the area and was removed in 1998.
