Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of a foundation trench on land behind The Crown PH. The site lay in an area of considerable archaeological potential, within the Roman town of Corinium and close to the primary core of Anglo-Saxon and medieval Cirencester. The watching brief identified post-medieval deposits. The limited depth of the groundworks meant that the presumed Roman and medieval deposits were not revealed. [Au] |
