Abstract: |
Drainage works had affected earthworks thought to have been part of a medieval shrunken village. A watching brief was undertaken during the drainage works in order to assess the extent of damage that they might have caused to surviving archaeological features. Although most of the trenching work did not appear to have damaged the earthworks, topsoil stripping in two of the trenches had uncovered house platforms dating to the 11-15th century that confirmed the presence of the medieval shrunken village.
