A desk-based study of land proposed for redevelopment at Warwick's and Richardson's Brewery, identified the potential survival of remains relating to activities from a number of periods including Romano-British and medieval remains on the North Gate frontage; remains relating to the medieval Hospital of St Leonard, associated cemetery and church; remains associated with the late/post-medieval aristocratic residence, Exeter house; and remains of 19th century and later cottages, small-scale industrial activity and brewery.
