Abstract: |
Consultation of archaeological, documentary and map-based archives identified no known archaeological features or findspots within the study area. Evidence of prehistoric and Romano-British activity had come from within the vicinity of the study area, and the site was located on the edge of the historic core of Newent which probably originiated in the Anglo-Saxon period. Documentary and cartographic sources suggested an agricultural utilization of the majority of the study area throughout the historic period. [Au(abr)] |
