Abstract: |
Open area excavation was carried out on land to the rear of Witton Hall. The remains of the 18th-19th century gardens belonging to the post-medieval hall, including part of a pond made in the 1740s, were recorded together with a number of boundary features. No trace was found of the possible Mesolithic activity or the medieval hall suggested by previous desktop assessment and evaluations. [Au] |
