Abstract: |
<summary>Excavations in advance of development, and following evaluation, examined an area adjacent to a Scheduled medieval moat and manor. Part of the moat was examined and beam slots and post holes suggested structures beyond this. Three medieval chalk-lined pits were also excavated. Although large quantities of pottery and wasters, pits and a cellar dating from the 17th century were revealed, no structural evidence of the documented pottery works was discovered. A fine Neolithic polished axe and a Mesolithic blade suggested early activity on the site. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
