Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a golf course which lay near an 8th or 9th century bank, a major sea defence. The terminus of a possible ditch containing pottery which was provisionally dated to the 15th-16th century was recorded. Two further linear features may also have been ditches; one contained animal bone, but no dating evidence was recovered. It was concluded that the features may have represented medieval or later field boundaries. [AIP] |
