Abstract:
The evaluation carried out at The Hall revealed the remains of a substantial flint and mortar foundation, which was interpreted as the west end of St Martin's Church, a building identified from historic maps. A feature interpreted as the foundation pit for a buttress and deposits inside the church area forming a make-up for what would have been a church floor were also recorded as well as a robber trench and demolition deposits. A number of post holes to the north of the church were also noted which probably related to a building contemporaneous to the church. However, there was no evidencce for associated burials found in the evaluation trenches.[Au(abr)]
