Abstract: |
A desk based assessment of the proposed site of a housing development was undertaken. A complex of field boundaries, trackways, settlement earthworks and cropmarks lay in the surrounding area, and Roman pottery had been found. Earthworks in the vicinity of the site had indicated the probable locations of house platforms and enclosures; excavation had revealed early medieval pottery and at least one medieval building. It was concluded that the site had some potential for medieval remains. [AIP] |
