Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken prior to redevelopment of the site. The pre-existing building along the Southgate Street frontage had been demolished, although the properties to the rear were maintained and were to be refurbished. An evaluation trench measuring 4m by 2m was mechanically excavated in the centre of the site. No deposits or features predating the 18th to 19th century were identified. [Au(abr)] |
