Abstract: |
An evaluation in advance of the construction of five new dwellings found a large post pit of late medieval date in the middle of the site, though no surfaces were associated with this feature. A further post hole to the south was smaller and of a different form and may not have been associated with the larger post pit, though this cannot be ruled out. Two substantial rubbish pits were also present, one containing later medieval pottery including a sherd of Brill Boarstall ware, usually dated to the late 13th to 14th centuries. There was no sign of any medieval back plot industry and there was no surviving stratigraphy. [Au(abr)] |
