Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment located 26 Listed sites within 1km of the study area, of which eight were in a 0.5km zone around the development area. The assessment also recorded 15 Listed buildings within the village of Papcastle, generally Romano-British in date and associated with the fort of Derventio. Two Roman roads were expected to extend into the site. There were also traces of medieval field systems, however, the site visit failed to observe any earthworks other than a post-medieval field boundary with no traces of ridge and furrow. [Au(adp) |
