Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation was carried out on the site close to a villa/farmstead identified by aerial photography. A Roman date settlement was identified, with an associated field system for pastoral farming. Ditches, enclosures, pits, structures and post holes were identified across the site. Evidence for salt production, pottery production and metalworking were identified on the site. Iron age ditches and late medieval/post-medieval pits were also identified. [Au(abr)] |
