Abstract: |
The watching brief carried out between the Winding Wheel and Bream Church recorded a 66 metre long undated iron-ore pit or scowle in the western end of the road corridor. Two further possible slag filled features were located directly to the south of the scowle and may have been associated with it. Deposits containing slag were also recorded at either end of the new road where it connected with the existing road.[Au] |
