Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed the dimensions of the eastern arm of the original moat, and the preservation of a substantial depth of waterlogged deposits within it. Little of this was securely dated before the mid 18th century, but much of the acumilation appeared to have represented a progressive and largely uninterrupted from the date of its original excavation. Data recovered from the northern end of the moat suggested that evidence for a sequence of four moat crossings survived relatively intact within the fills there.[Au(abr)] |
