Abstract: |
A combined review of existing archaeological data together with field observations during topsoil stripping was carried out on the Crawl Lane to Clandown link main. The eastern end of the easement abutted the Fosse Way Roman road, but, despite being specifically sought, no features or stray finds of Roman date were seen in that, or any other part of the easement. Within the central section of the pipeline the easement passed through a ridge and furrow based field system and a trackway, the latter being of recent date. [Au] |
