Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of underpinning pits for a basement extension. A probable gravel quarry was observed which may have been connected with the construction of Civil War defences in the area. The quarry was crossed by a late 17th or 18th century brick wall. A brick-lined well and clay pipes ranging in date from 1660-1910 were also recorded. [AIP] |
