Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during alterations to the Grade II Listed Building. The landscaping exposed a surface of small, finely laid cobbles that had been preserved below a bank at the west edge of the churchyard. A rectangular base or footing had survived from a feature that had been set within the cobbled surface. Pottery from the redeposited clay, which abutted the northern edge of the cobbles, could be dated to the late 18th or early 19th centuries. [Au(adp)] |
