Abstract: |
The earliest finds from the site were Roman and Anglo-Saxon in date. However, these were not associated with features and were only supported by documentary evidence. The main body of the known and partially excavated archaeological resource, centered on the construction of Dartford Priory and Henry VIII's manor house. These two structures were situated in the western half of the site. The eastern half of the site contained no known archaeological finds. However, documentary sources suggested the presence of medieval and post-medieval buildings fronting onto Hythe Street.[Au(abr)] |
