Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in advance of a proposed new school building. Post-medieval landscape and garden features were identified, cutting through a colluvium subsoil layer of indeterminate age. Some 'features' were also detected beneath the colluvium but were undated and may have been of natural origin. A handful of prehistoric flints dating from the Neolithic and Bronze Age were recovered from topsoil and colluvial deposits. It was likely that these were transported down the hillside along with the colluvium over a number of centuries. [Au(adp)] |
