Abstract: |
The evaluation comprised the machine-excavation of four trenches. All the trenches contained evidence of probable modern truncation and revealed modern made ground immediately overlying the natural subsoil. With the exception of Trench 1 which contained a modern pit, and Trench 3 which contained a ditch of post-medieval date, no other trenches contained subsoil features or deposits of potential archaeological interest. No pre-modern finds were recovered from the spoilheaps. [Au] |
