Abstract: |
The archaeological evaluation demonstrated that much of the site had been subjected to extensive disturbance or deposition relating to activity within the last 200 years. The presence in Trench 1 of a gully containing medieval pottery in situ, and further pottery in Trench 2, suggested an earlier phase of activity and probable occupation. The medieval remains in themselves were too slight to permit a detailed interpretation, but their significance was enhanced within the context of the historic village settlement.[Au(abr)] |
