Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment identified that although no archaeological sites or finds had been recorded within the area proposed for an opencast mine, the high quality of the archaeological resource in the surrounding area, particularly for the Iron Age - Romano-British and medieval periods, indicated the potential for the survival of sub-surface deposits within the proposed area.
