Abstract: |
Archaeological recording was carried out during the refurbishment and renovation of a cottage and two Grade II Listed Buildings, the Farmhouse and the Bakehouse, at Middlebere Farm. Excavations undertaken for a new drainage system were also monitored. Sections of masonry walls, masonry scars and foundations were exposed and recorded, as were areas of cobbled surfaces, soil accumulations and internal and external surfaces. Artefacts recovered included medieval pottery, post-medieval glass, pottery and clay pipe, animal bone, shell and 20th century objects. Four undated post holes were observed within the cottage.
