Abstract: |
The excavation of a High Voltage cable trench was monitored. A 900mm accumulation of colluvium was noted on the downslope side of the field associated with a little worked flint. Further upslope a negative lynchet was located along with a ditch of probable late prehistoric date. A further feature appeared to be a 900mm deep late prehistoric pit (probably Bronze Age) which produced a small assemblage of artefacts including pottery and a bone point. A Bronze Age settlement was likely to have lain in the immediate vicinity. [Au(abr)] |
