Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a site damaged by a bomb blast in 1992 was undertaken. Excavations in the vicinity had recovered a single sherd of Iron Age pottery and had recorded evidence of Roman activity. The site appeared to have first been built upon in the 16th century. It was concluded that some cut features or archaeological stratification may have survived previous development, and it was recommended that an evaluation should be carried out. [AIP] |
