Abstract: |
A ground penetrating radar survey was carried out in and around Arkenside Hotel, Cirencester. The area surveyed totalled around 0.28ha. The survey identified anomalies across the site which were likely to have represented structural remains. Rectilinear anomalies had been identified which may have corresponded to Victorian features around No.15 and to the rear of the hotel. Complex anomalies have been located in the hotel basement which may have had an archaeological origin. The driveway contained long planar responses suggesting the presence of a former surface. The possible position of the well next to No.15 had also been defined. [Au(adp)] |
