Abstract: |
The earliest activity recorded was a number of residual Romano-British potsherds, brick fragments and pieces of tile evidencing a well-appointed building in the immediate vicinity. A single dumped deposit of Anglo-Saxon domestic waste was recovered, containing evidence for the pastoral economy of the site, including the working of cow horns. A proposed made ground deposit of late medieval date attested to the development or re-development of the site in this period. [Au(abr)] |
