Abstract:
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site within an Archaeological Priority Area was undertaken. The site lay within the precincts of a medieval priory. Previous excavation had revealed gravel pits, a ditch, Roman pottery and 16th-17th century foundations. Material which had probably resulted from the demolition of a medieval building had also been recovered. It was concluded that the recording of any remaining features should be made a priority during development. [AIP]
