Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment on land designated as an area of archaeological potential subject to Local Plan Policy BE 14 was undertaken. The site lay in an area of known Roman activity, namely salt-working, which would also have been undertaken during the prehistoric period. There were a large number of archaeological sites identified on the Cheshire SMR within the vicinity of the development area, however, within the development area only one site was identified which indicated a low risk of encountering archaeological remains. It was noted though, that the possibility did exist for the survival of unknown archaeological remains. [AIP] |
