Abstract: |
An updated desk-based assessment was carried out on the proposed quarry extension site. The assessment identified that the proposed quarry extension would impact on part of the Langdale Hale Romano-British settlement complex and the setllement would potentialy have Late Iron Age activity. A trackway that was associated with the settlement would also be impacted upon. A potential Bronze Age field system fell within the development boundaries and earlier work on surroundings sites identified pre Iron Age sites that were not identified by crop marks. Organic remains from Rhee lake were also of high archaeological potential. [Au(abr)] |
