Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a proposed development site, which lay in an area where twelve groups of cropmarks had been identified. A scatter of worked flints, an early medieval cemetery and the site of a medieval manor also lay nearby. During the evaluation, a post-medieval ditch, an undated ditch and modern land drains were recorded. Four linear features containing 18th-20th century pottery, tile and clay pipe fragments were interpreted as the remains of furrows. Modern pottery and a sherd of medieval cooking pot were recovered.
