Abstract: |
The site yielded evidence of prehistoric and medieval activity in the immediate vicinity. No prehistoric features were identified, although a number of prehistoric worked flints were found on the site. These occured either as residual finds or in unstratified contexts. The unstratified finds included two flake cores, three scrapers, one notched flake and a utilised blade. The artefacts were broadly dated to the later Neolithic period. The principal feature revealed was a ditch. This represented a medieval boundary ditch associated with a former property situated close to the site. It contained 14th century pottery and suggested that it was contemporary with a ditch found on the other side of the site in 1997. [AIP] |
