Abstract: |
Excavation of an area of 0.25ha was undertaken prior to development in an area where a Middle Iron Age pit had been located by an earlier evaluation. Evidence of occupation was recovered, with ring-gully structures revealed. Settlement evidence of the period on the higher ground above the river valley was very scarce. Carbonised seeds supported the idea of agriculture moving to more marginal areas. [AIP] |
