Abstract: |
An archaeological observation and recording programme was undertaken during groundworks associated with commercial development. The site was a new rectangular block of land that lay in the Area of Archaeological Importance, which defined the likely extent of the medieval and later village of Winchmore Hill. A 19th century meeting hall occupied the south-eastern end of the site. The development comprised the conversion of the existing structure into a day nursery. The groundworks revealed no archaeological features or finds. [Au(abr)] |
