Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, consisting of the excavation of two 10m by 2m trenches, was undertaken prior to proposed development of the site. Trench 1 revealed truncated natural sands underlying a late post-medieval brick floor, soakaways and garden soil. Trench 2 revealed the top of the natural sands cut by four small pits and a post hole. Only the very bases of the pits survived and some burnt flint, bone, charcoal and one undiagnostic struck flint was recovered from them. The pits were truncated by modern terracing. [Au(Adp)] |
