Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a parsonage and other dwellings. It had been suggested that the site lay within the area of an early medieval settlement. During the evaluation, post-medieval ditches and gullies were recorded. Several large quarry pits, rubbish pits and a substantial limestone foundation of uncertain date were revealed. Post-medieval pottery, dating largely from 1750-1800 or later, was recovered. Some features may have derived from horticultural use of the site. [AIP] |
