Abstract:
The watching brief was carried out as trenches for services were excavated. They, along with the other excavations enabled an expansion of the existing historical framework for the castle. Inevitably, questions were also raised for future research, it was hoped that subsequent restoration plans would allow for that, and for the continued preservation of surviving archaeology wherever possible.
