Abstract: |
A resistivity survey was carried out at the proposed site of a glasshouse which lay adjacent to Scawsby Hall, a 17th century building, and was also close to well-preserved and complex earthworks which were thought to have represented the remains of the original medieval settlement of Scawsby. The survey was extended to cover these earthworks. A number of areas of high and low resistance were identified, for which a geological origin was most probable, although some may have had a cultural origin. Several linear anomalies were also identified. Three anomalies of potential archaeological interest lay within the application area itself. [AIP] |
