Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on the excavation of a sewage drain trench within the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin. The portion of trench which extended along the western side of the path probably truncated fills of an earlier service trench. The boundary between deposits (119) and (124) may have been the eastern side of a pond. Burials truncated by the trench, in front of the church, may have been late medieval. Installation of the toilet was likely to disturb further burials as well as provide details of church construction. [Au(adp)] |
