Abstract: |
Trial trenching on the site of a former transport depot found evidence for medieval activity in the form of pits and a group of post holes was found close to the street frontage. A number of possible boundary ditches were revealed. The area to the east of the street appeared to have been occupied by open fields until the mid-nineteenth century when it was used as a racecourse. [Au(abr)] |
