Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site was undertaken. A small number of prehistoric artefacts had been found in the surrounding area, and the projected routes of two Roman roads passed nearby. Roman gravel pits and part of a cemetery had been excavated. A church 200m from the site had first been mentioned in 951 AD; later medieval settlement in the area had also been documented. It was concluded that an evaluation would be necessary. [AIP] |
