Abstract: |
The watching brief was undertaken during ground investigations. The site was located on the corner of St James's Street and Maid Marion Way within the medieval town of Nottingham. St. James's Street was recorded from 1395 and was likely to have been an original feature of the post-Conquest town. The watching brief focused on a series of trial pits and boreholes excavated to assess ground conditions for redevelopment to the rear of the present building. The pits produced four sherds of medieval pottery and some sand deposits resembling archaeological feature fills, although these may have been redeposited. [Au(abr)] |
