Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land that lay in an area of high archaeological potential, particularly for deposits and artefacts of Roman date. Fieldwork undertaken previously near the site indicated that archaeological deposits in the area varied considerably over short distances. The majority of the site proved to be of little archaeological interest although the presence of a Late Iron Age/Roman ditch was revealed. Other artefacts included a Roman coin (1st - 2nd century AD) and medieval and post medieval pottery. [AIP] |
