Abstract: |
Five test trenches were dug in an area of Blanchland proposed for new residential buildings. Apart from one cut in the corner of one of the trenches which contained medieval material, only modern and natural events were seen. The cut may have been a medieval attempt to drain the land, but it may also have been a more recent feature that had become backfilled with material containing medieval finds. [AIP] |
