Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of an extension to a golf course. Aerial survey had previously revealed cropmark evidence indicating the presence of probable archaeological features, including boundaries, linear features and ring ditches, over a large area of the field to the east and south-east of the proposal site. During the evaluation, a straight, ditch-like feature of indeterminate but possibly early date was revealed within the field, whilst two earth mounds of unknown but probably modern origin were noted and plotted during an inspection of a wooded area.
