Abstract: |
During the course of the evaluation nine post holes and a shallow pit were revealed which were dated to the early post-medieval period. In addition, a small assemblage of unstratified worked flint of probable Late Bronze Age date was also recovered. The excavated trenches demonstrated that the site had remained undeveloped since the later prehistoric period. However, although the site lay close to a Roman town and a Roman road leading south, there was no evidence for Romano-British activity. [Au(abr)] |
