Abstract: |
Several route options for a proposed transfer main were studied in a desk-based assessment, to establish their various impacts on archaeolgical remains. Shipyards and other riverside features were seen as being most at threat from the various proposed routes. A particular route (3) was highlighted as posing the least threat to archaeology, but it was noted that neither of the other two route options were unacceptable on archaeological grounds provided an appropriate scheme of mitigation were implemented.
