Abstract: |
The desktop study established the area had been in use since 1861 as a lunatic asylum. The lodge at the south end of the main entrance to the asylum was also built c.1861. By 1916 the main asylum building had been extended. At the east and west end new wings had been added to the south front. The asylum church in its present position appeared also to have been built after 1885. [Au(abr)] |
